Let's start with the loudest one. We have another plane ready to zoom across the sky and scout the seas. The new Seaplane is now available!



With the capability of landing and taking off from both sea and land, this is a perfect aircraft for those who desire to claim one of the uninhabited islands but still like to move around the map, or Indiana Jones roleplayers.









We have a new BB element for you as well. So you did it, you finally got your plane out of that airfield, avoiding mechs, zombies and sacrificing materials. Now what? Land it anywhere so someone else can just take it, he who sacrificed nothing, he who did not learn mech patterns and he who did not commit hours of getting it out of there? Nay we say, nay to the thieves and their thieving hands, why should they get your prize without putting in any work. With this new BB element you can now create a big door, a hangar door if you would, so you can secure your plane, lock it, keep it secret, keep it safe. Or you can just build an empty one so people waste their lockpicks, you know up to you.



And ofcourse we have multiple levels of these doors.












We have a new trader for you all. The bartender can now serve all your liquid and food desires. Located in now open saloons, feel free to sit down have a drink, grab some chow and relax a bit.



Most of the food and drink items have been transferred from the general goods store to the bartender, but that is not all she will have to offer, but that comes later.





Now for a feature that builds on an old one. WE promised more metabolism depth and here we go. You can now get a new condition: Trench foot. Contrary to the name you don't get it from being in a trench but by constantly keeping your feet wet.

There are different stages to it and ways to treat it. If you keep your footwear and feet wet constantly without drying them out, you will progress through 3 different stages.

• Stage 1

-In stage 1 your character will start feeling pain signaling that Trench foot is forming.

• Stage 2

-In stage 2 your character will not only have pain but blurred vision as well and your health will slowly start dropping.

• Stage 3

-In stage 3 Trench foot has completely developed. Your character is experiencing extreme pain and will start limping. Health will start dropping more rapidly and if untreated will die.

The way to treat trench foot is easy. Get your feet somewhere warm and dry. Then wait till the wound goes into recovery.

Now here is the kicker that you need to be aware of: Terrain wetness is now determined by the terrain itself as well. that means areas like snow and swamps will get you wet. So make sure you have proper shoes for proper terrain.

Update 1.17 just went live on Steam! While we’re already hard at work on the next update, this text will elaborate on the most important aspects of 1.17. Our primary focus this time around was on the themes of accessibility and crafting. If you’re interested in seeing a full list of the update’s additions, changes, and fixes, See link at bottom of the post.

One of the key parts of update 1.17 is the addition of new sensitivity settings, which offer players the ability to adjust the sensitivity of their controls in different scenarios such as aiming, moving, and steering. Another important part of the update is the revised existing control scheme for controllers, the addition of an alternative control scheme, and a large bug-fixing pass on a variety of control-related issues. The alternative scheme gives us room to adjust the controls without affecting the existing scheme in a major way and enables us to resolve some long-standing issues with the existing scheme. We will be processing feedback from the stable branch of 1.17 and possibly adjusting the alternative control scheme further. Control schemes can be changed while in the main/pause menu through the controls screen.

Crafty survivors can now make an improvised gas mask filter, a belt out of rope, a cookware stand for a fireplace, and a whole new set of improvised clothing made out of rags. The crafting of a stone knife has been revised and bones can now be used to craft a bone knife. Meanwhile, both improvised knives can be used to craft an improvised spear. Some non-craftable melee weapons have also been added, such as a meat tenderizer (which works as a weaker hammer), a cleaver, and a pitchfork.



Speaking of weapons, the selection of civilian firearms has been expanded, and now includes the CR-550 Savanna - a powerful .308 hunting bolt-action rifle, as well as the .308 Longhorn pistol and the legendary P1 9mm pistol.



Last, but certainly not least, we’ll be kicking off our Walpurgis Night event alongside update 1.17, which will run from April 19th to May 9th.

In order to join the Experimental version, you first need to download it. To do that, select the "DayZ Experimental" from the Steam Store and install it.

Server owners will need to add/modify these 2 new properties in the serverconfig.xml. These filters will help players find your server.



Values must be one of the following:
NorthAmericaEast, NorthAmericaWest, CentralAmerica, SouthAmerica, Europe, Russia, Asia, MiddleEast, Africa, Oceania


Values: Use any language name that your players would expect to search for. Should be the English name of the language, e.g. not "Deutsch" but "German". This is a filter name only and DOES NOT SET the language for players.



To participate:

1. right click on the game in steam
   
2. click on properties
   
3. click the "betas" tab
   
4. the drop down menu will have latest_experimental available ← you want THAT
   
5. select that and wait for the game to download.

This DLC was chosen as a reminder to adhere to the rules of war through the introduction of the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). This includes the prevention of threats to civilian lives and infrastructure and the protection of humanitarian actions.

The Charity Bundle was initially scheduled to be available for two weeks. However, after those two weeks, we decided to extend the fundraiser period by another week, until the 23rd of March, so we could help more.
